the one with my favorite zero waste swaps

Though I'm still doing my research on clothe diapers + stores aren't currently letting me use my reusable produce bags, there are still some zero waste items I have incorporated into my life that I absolutely love!

1. coconut oil
This is the most recent item I've incorporated into my life, and man I wish I would have discovered it sooner. I have a close friend {hey, Meg} who also tries to live a more sustainable life, so I texted her and asked what she was doing for a lotion. She told me coconut oil, so I ordered Dr. Bronner's Organic Virgin Coconut oil. I absolutely love it! I love the smell, and it is w a y more moisturizing than the organic/natural lotions I had been using.

2. safety razor
I have been using a safety razor for about a year now, and my husband does as well. Not only does it save us so much money {seriously}, but it is a very close shave and my husband experiences less razor burn on his face. It's a bit intimidating to use at first, but I just shave a little slower than I normally would.

3. dry shampoo
I've shared the recipe for my dry shampoo over on my instagram a couple of times. Its equal parts cacao powder, baking soda, and corn starch. You can add more or less cacao powder depending on the color of your hair. It's natural, less wasteful, saves cash mon-ay, and your hair smells like chocolate!
4. hydroflask
I talked about on my last post getting a reusable cup or mug for your coffee + water. Unfortunately most places aren't allowing you to use your own cup right now, so I have been drinking most of my coffee from the house. I have had a Hydroflask water bottle for years, but I ended up purchasing one of their coffee flasks. Isaac had one, and I kept stealing it from him. I love using it because it keeps my coffee hot for hours, it doesn't leak, and I mean - it's cute.

5. bidet
Okay, so hear me out - we lived in Europe for 3 years.
This has got to be my favorite thing we've changed since trying to live more sustainably. Now, we still use toilet paper, but I think I purchased one pack of toilet paper {Costco sells a natural + sustainably made kind} that lasted us around 6-9 months. It's awesome! And you just feel so clean. 10/10 recommend. My husband and I love it so much.
